Design system built for an agency partnership

A design system you can build on

A shared library in Figma brings components, colours, typography and rules together, so designers and developers have the same reference. The scope starts from your product and the team who will use the system.

When several people work on the same product

A design system becomes relevant when new pages and features need to match the rest of the solution, and several people help build them.

I start from your existing design and gather the patterns you need to reuse. It can be part of a digital design project or a standalone clean-up of an existing interface.

  • Several people publish or develop on the same solution
  • New pages take too long because everything is designed from scratch
  • Website, app and campaigns look like three different companies

From existing design to shared components

  1. Review

I review the product, the Figma files and the visual identity. We choose which patterns to keep, merge or change.

  2. Shared foundation

Colours, typography, spacing and corners are defined as reusable values. Naming and structure are aligned with the people who will use the system.

  3. Components

I build the agreed buttons, fields, cards and other components with relevant variants, error states and interactions.

  4. Documentation and handover

You get Figma files and a short guide. If development is included, the components are aligned with the code. We also agree how the system is maintained.

How much does a design system cost?

The price depends on whether you start from an existing UI and how many components need documenting. Choose Design system in the calculator and adjust the deliverables.

How extensive is the UI/UX task?

A standalone design task. Responsive UI, regular discovery and developer handover are included. Development is not. Alongside a website, this covers an extra product or flow.

Frequently asked questions about design systems

What is a design system?

A design system brings together reusable UI components, design values and rules for using them. It gives designers and developers a shared foundation when they build new pages and features.

How is it different from a brand guide?

A brand guide describes the company's visual identity. A design system translates that identity, among other things, into digital components and their states. The two can therefore complement each other.

Does a smaller website need a design system?

Not always as a separate project. On a smaller website the components can be developed along the way. A standalone system is more relevant when several people or products need to share the same design.

Can you keep working on our Figma library?

Yes. I start by reviewing the files and agree what should be cleaned up or extended. You don't have to start over if the existing library works.

How much does a design system cost?

The price depends on the starting point, the number of components and the documentation needed. Use the calculator and choose Design system to get a preliminary range.
